Desiree Evans, Christian Author and Novelist

Hi everyone. I’m Desiree Evans, Christian Author and Novelist.  I am a Prayer Warrior, and humble servant of Jesus Christ, that desires to do his will. I have written “Her Divine Destiny,” as a dedication to the memory of my late mother; who prayed for her children before she went on home to glory. I thank the Lord for a praying mother, because I know that it was those prayers, and  love mixed with her faith in God that drew me to my now Lord and Savior Jesus Christ years later. In 1984, I surrendered my life to Jesus Christ, and decided to follow him. Best decision I ever made.

Since that time, the Lord has blessed me to receive An Associate of Science Degree in Criminal Justice w/ honors in 2008, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice with Honors on August 4th 2012 from Ashworth College; as well as a Graduate Certificate w/ honors in Mediation and Conflict Resolution from Lakewood College. It is also an honor to be a blessed member of the National Association of Certified Mediators. He has graced me to become an elected member of Delta Epsilon Tau International Honor Society since 2009.  Today I enjoy being a wife, mother, and grandmother. My hobbies include writing, and I love baking, and decorating cupcakes.

Vol 1: 2nd Edition “Her Divine Destiny,” Cherry Blossom Garden ( Multi-Cultural Special Edition).

Her Divine Destiny setting begins in the 1950’s, in the little town of Sapphire Blue, Georgia; located near the beautiful picturesque City of Cherry Blossom, named for its’ famous cherry blossom trees that lined the streets of the Garden District.  Her Divine Destiny is an historic romance novel, that chronicles the life of a young woman of multi-cultural heritage, named Azalea Stevens; in search of purpose, and fulfillment. Her Divine Destiny can be compared to romantic old-fashioned novels where you suddenly find yourself transformed into the heroine’s time period. You find yourself so engulfed in reading, that you actually become the heroine.

Azalea’s dreams would lead her from working as a seamstress in a dress factory; to becoming a “beautiful bride,” and finally a successful prominent Fashion Designer. Her desires would lead her to seek love with the wrong men. Winston Sanders was self-centered, and had no goals in life, except his own immediate needs, and self-gratification. She’d then meet Jacque Marquette, who possessed all the outward characteristics any young woman would be attracted to; but was narcissistic. Her passions would eventually lead her to become the “beautiful bride” of the love of her life; the handsome and ambitious young Lane Jenson. Although, Azalea’s life seemed perfect; there still seemed to be something missing. At a point in life, when she should have felt completely fulfilled, she still felt a void. Suddenly fate steps in, and turns her seemingly perfect world upside down. Would the path to success she’d taken be enough to see her through her trials she is about to encounter, or would the path that God had chosen for her life, ultimately be the path that leads to Her Divine Destiny?”

Her Divine Destiny was  written by me, that I  may give God all the glory, honor, and praise for all he has done in my life. Her Divine Destiny shows us that we as women, particularly when we are young, sometimes choose the path we feel is best for our lives, with no thought to the consequences, but God only wants the best for his children, which is why you should be encouraged with your reading. God has pre-destined for our lives where our blessing await us, when we allow God to direct our paths.

DO YOU EXPECT A HARVEST, JUST BECAUSE YOU SIMPLY PLANTED THE SEEDS?

2 Corinthians 5:21 KJV “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”

How great is the love that God has shown us? Let’s examine that question? The answer can be found in St. John 3:16. KJV For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Oh how blessed we are. I am reminded of that old hymn; Oh how I love Jesus, Oh how I love Jesus, Oh how I love Jesus, because he first loved me. He proves it each and every day of our lives. Here’s our first clue:” Each and every day of our lives.” This means that when we open our eyes in the morning, and breath in oxygen, that God has breathed this oxygen into our nostrils, not anything we have done. Sure I know, you’re probably saying:  “What does she mean I haven’t done anything to breathe in fresh air? You’re probably saying; “I exercise 5 days a week, run at least 1-2 miles a day, and try to eat a healthy balanced  meal three times a day with 3 in between meal snacks comprised of carrot sticks, and celery juice, with a few grapes for dessert. I even  have my weight down to where my cholesteral levels are very near normal. You’re probably asking yourself: I mean don’t I even get any credit for setting my alarm each day?

Lets examine what the Word of God says first on the subject.

I Corinthians 1: 29 KJV that no flesh should glory in his presence.

I Corinthians 3:5-8 KJV

(5)  Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?

(6 )  I have planted, Apollos watereth, but God gave the increase.

(7)  So then neither is he that planteth anything, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.

(8)  Now he that planteth, and he that watereth are one, and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labor.

The Lord is making it perfectly clear to us that he shall get the glory for our accomplishments, and yet he rewards us according to our faith, and actions. Hebrews 11: 6 KJV But without faith, it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God, must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him.

God loves us so much, that he allows us the freedom to choose which path we want to take in life, and he then rewards us accordingly. If you plant tomatoes, and you neglected to  water them; yet your neighbor planted tomatoes, and was up at dawn each day to nuture, water, and giving them fresh sunlight, when the time came to bring them to market to sell, whose tomatoes would reap the biggest reward?  Of course the one who worked hardest at caring for his tomatoes.

God promises to reward those who seek his instruction for their lives, because this is the life that he has given to us through his unmerited grace. This means that there is nothing we could ever do to earn “Gods Grace.” So the next itme you open your eyes, breathe in fresh air, exercise, walk that mile, and eat a healthy meal;  remember it’s all done by the “Grace of God.”

Jesus Christ himself invites you to:
“Come unto me all ye that labor, and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and in me ye shall find rest unto your souls. Matthew 11:28,29 (KJV)
